1. Acceptance
By accessing or using CheckThemFirst you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts to use the service. One account per person.
3. Permissible use
Reports may be used only for personal, non-FCRA purposes such as identifying unknown callers, verifying online contacts, or reviewing your own information. You confirm before every search that your purpose is lawful and permissible.
4. Acceptable Use / anti-stalking
By using this service you agree NOT to use it to stalk, harass, threaten, or harm any individual, or to make decisions prohibited under the FCRA (employment, tenant screening, credit, insurance, and similar). Misuse may violate federal and state law and will result in account termination. Full details are in our Acceptable Use Policy.
5. Subscription, trial, and billing
The 7-day trial is $1.00 and includes a limited number of lookups. After 7 days you will be enrolled in the monthly plan at $29.99 unless you cancel first. Cancel any time from the Cancellation page in one click.
6. Prohibited conduct
No scraping, mirroring, reselling of reports, reverse engineering, automated access, harassment, doxxing, or use of the service to build a competing dataset. We may suspend accounts that violate these rules without refund.
7. Data accuracy disclaimer
Reports compile publicly available and commercially available information and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Use CheckThemFirst as a starting point for your own due diligence, not as a verified statement of fact about any individual.
8. Intellectual property
The CheckThemFirst name, logo, interface, and compiled report layouts are the property of the operator. You receive a limited, non-transferable license to view your own reports for personal use.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CheckThemFirst and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any decision made in reliance on a report. Aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify CheckThemFirst against any claim arising from your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of the rights of any third party.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. You may cancel any time from the Cancellation page.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the operator's principal place of business. Disputes will be resolved by binding individual arbitration to the extent permitted by law; class actions are waived.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
